The picture above shows a training match being played at a part of the football ground. The match is being played between two teams i.e. Team Yellow and Team Blue. Both the teams consists of seven players each, Three infield players, three substitutes and one goalkeeper. The matches like these are a common and important part of practice. They make you understand the in match situations and enable you to be familiar with the environment of the game. Kids at schools and in the streets who don’t have the high sporting facilities also adopt this method to enjoy this beautiful sport in a small area.
The substitutions in this format are not announced and the play is not stopped. The ‘Rolling Substitution’ method is used. The infield player goes out and the player to be replaced joins the game.
This format also helps the players to enhance there decision making in tight situations which is highly useful in high pressure real matches.
