4-4-2 with diamond – playing system for short midfield combinations

The picture above is of a football ground. It shows two teams present on the ground i.e. Team Red and Team Grey.

Both teams are standing in a 4-4-2 formation but Red team has there players close together whereas, the Grey team has there players at flanks and at the far corner which shows that they are into attacking phase in order to create chances and score more goals. The Red team should also place their players in the Red marked area as we can see that there is no player to make an interception as the flanks are always an important area in a football match. Similarly the grey player in the Yellow marked box should be marked and covered by the defenders.

A good and effective formation is always important to create an impact on the game and set the temperament of the game.
