The picture above is of a football ground. It shows two teams i.e. Team Red and Team Grey present on the ground. Both the teams have formations of 4-4-2 but the team Red has some flaws.
The players shown in Green marked boxes show that the players are perfectly placed in that areas. However, the Red marked area shows that this area needs to be corrected as we can see that the central area of the midfield is empty and grey team has a clear path to move forward. The Red Players on Left and Right back should be the ones to cover the flanks and the players on midfield should cover the players approaching from the center.
A good and effective formation is always important to create an impact on the game and set the temperament of the game.
