The picture above shows a training drill being performed. It involves nine players in total, three red players at top side, three blue players at the bottom side and three yellow players acting as defenders.

The drill starts when the red player plays a pass to the blue player diagonal to him. The blue player then plays a pass to his fellow blue player or the red player on the far side of the field. While the yellow players, acting as defenders, try to intercept the passes and stop the movement of the ball.

This drill is very important as it helps the player to tackle pressure situations and to keep the ball in possession. To keep the possession of the ball is very important as it sets the momentum for the entire team and makes a path for the team to score goals and win. On the other hand, defenders can also learn to tackle and the technique of pressing the opposition to intercept the passes.
